God's blessing follows the leaders who adopt the vision God has for the world. Psalm 67 shows both sides of the coin of a life with God. On one side stands the blessing, and on the other the responsibility that comes with it. When God blesses us, we bear the responsibility of passing that blessing on to the world - not only in the material sense, but also in the spiritual sense (1 Peter 4:10).
Psalm 67:1 asks God for grace and blessing and that he would make his face shine upon us (one side of the coin). Psalm 67:2 tells us what the blessing and grace are needed for: so that the earth would know God's way and his salvation would become known among the nations.
God blesses people so that they can become a blessing to those who have not yet received God's blessing. Leaders who build God's kingdom are excited about this principle. Managing the blessings is not the goal. Being blessed is not the goal either. Using the blessings for God's glory and supporting the process by which those who do not yet know God come to know him - that belongs to it too. It cannot simply be left out.
God's heart beats for the whole world, and he reaches his goal through leaders who see and want exactly that.
Psalm 67
God's blessing over all the world
1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
