When Queen Vashti refused to appear before King Ahasuerus (Xerxes) and his princes to display her beauty, the king became very angry and asked his advisors how he should deal with the situation. As a result, he banished the queen from the palace, opening the door for Esther. Esther is a wonderful example of how God uses a person's influence to carry out his plan. For more than once, Esther exerted a positive influence on the king and his decisions. Her gift of intuition, paired with the ability to recognize the right moment, strengthened her influence and her leadership.
